The La Porte Area

On the Gulf of Mexico, only three miles from the cruise line terminal at Galveston Bay, some of our guests are headed off on vacation. Other guests are visiting NASA Johnson Space Center, Battleship Texas, the Pasadena Convention Center, Royal Purple Raceway, or the Pasadena Rodeo and Livestock Show. Whether traveling through for business or pleasure, after a comfortable night’s rest in one of our comfy beds, our guests are served a delicious free Bright Side Breakfast®. It’s easy to catch up on news from home and office by using our free high-speed internet access via Wi-Fi. There’s free parking, so why not take time to relax in the outdoor swimming pool before or after a busy day? Your traveling pets are welcome as well.

Situated near the Gulf of Mexico just east of Houston, La Porte is also called the Pasadena-Baytown area, key to Houston’s important role in shipping and international trade. The city is also part of Greater Galveston Bay Area. Cool breezes off Galveston Bay, sailing, kayaking, or enjoying the water views from a bayside park keep us away from heat further inland. Historic Main Street holds outdoor art shows to showcase local artists. But, when business or pleasure in Houston call, the commute to the nation’s fourth most populous city is an easy one. Nearby, Kemah Boardwalk offers a family getaway packed with rides and amusements, loads of food and fun. A visit to NASA, only 11 miles from our hotel, is a fascinating day out for all ages to learn the story of space exploration.

Hotel Services and Amenities

Whether you’re here as our guest for just one night, or you’re visiting on an extended stay, we think you’ll find our hotel to be friendly, comfortable, well-equipped, and excellent value. We have a coffeemaker for that first cup in the morning in each room. Sleep in a comfy bed, then rise to a healthy and free Bright Side Breakfast served daily. Catch up on things using free high-speed Wi-Fi internet access, make free local calls, or relax by tuning in to a new flat-panel TV with 30 HD premium channels and a Plug-and-Play connection for your electronics. We have free parking, an outdoor swimming pool, a guest laundry facility. And, of course, traveling pets are welcome, too.

La Porte Attractions

Just 25 miles from downtown Houston, La Porte is at the heart of the oil refinery industry at Bayfront Industrial Complex, but with a small town feel. It’s not all business; we still have time for a fun annual arts & crafts show, to ride the La Porte Wave Pool, to play golf, go fishing, and to sit on a blanket spread on the fine sand at Sylvan Beach Park. Visitors love the popular Strawberry Festival in May, which typically attracts 50,000 visitors. In Pasadena, we have a Philharmonic Society and Orchestra, the Pasadena Historical Museum, and the Bay Area Museum. We’re home to Armand Bayou Nature Center with its 2,500 acres, the nation’s largest urban wilderness preserve. See the San Jacinto Monument, commemorating the battle of 1836 which ended the war establishing Texas independence from Mexico. At the close of a busy day, a Texas-style barbecue, Italian grill, or seafood dinner are offered at restaurants conveniently adjacent to the hotel.
